Placement into our orchestras is determined by the audition.

Auditions for the 2020-21 Season will continue through the summer and fall of 2020. Due to ongoing public health concerns and government policies, we will be conducting auditions by video this summer (no in-person auditions.) We ask auditionees to pre-record your audition video, upload it to YouTube, and submit it to us.
We begin rehearsals on September 12. We will continue to hear any submitted auditions on a rolling basis throughout the fall, until all seats are filled. Please go ahead and submit your audition to us as soon as possible.

Submit Video Auditions as follows:
1) Please complete the Audition Registration Form below.
-You will receive an email confirmation within a few days, including a link to submit your Video Audition when ready.
2) To create the best possible pre-recorded Video Audition, simply follow our guidelines and requirements, and upload it to YouTube.
-Submit the Video Audition YouTube link using the link we emailed you.
4) You should hear back from us with the results of your audition within 1 week.

Applicants should be prepared to:
--Play two contrasting movements of a solo work, concerto, or sonata without an accompanist
--"Contrasting" refers to one faster, more technical movement and one slower, more melodic movement
-- Contrasting solos can come from two movements of the same work, OR from two separate works.
-- Play up to 2 minutes of each solo, starting at the soloist's first entrance and stopping at the end of a phrase near the 2-minute mark (we would like to hear the exposition of your piece.)
--Percussionists should prepare an appropriate solo work / etude on snare drum and timpani (and mallet keyboard if possible)
--Perform major scales up to 4 flats and 4 sharps - see Audition Requirements for specific scales for each instrument

--Percussion and Harps: In addition to your solo, please prepare an orchestral excerpt of your choice.
