Philadelphia Sinfonia Association accepts musicians by audition. We offer:

--Full symphonic orchestra concerts (advanced and intermediate level)
--Chamber orchestra concerts
--Performances with professional soloists
--Artistic and community partnership opportunities
--Sectionals and Master Classes with Philadelphia Orchestra musicians and other top professionals
--Internal concerto competition (every other year)
--Varied and challenging musical repertoire

Auditions for the 2017-18 season are by appointment.
Please complete the registration below to request your audition. We will get back to you within a week.
We have limited openings in select sections, particularly viola, bassoon, horn, and trumpet.

Applicants should be prepared to:

--Play two contrasting  movements of a concerto or sonata without an accompanist
--"Contrasting" refers to one technical movement and one slower or musical movement
 --Percussionists should prepare an appropriate solo work / etude on snare drum and timpani (and mallet keyboard if possible)
--No applicant will play an entire concerto during the audition
--Perform major scales up to 4 flats and 4 sharps 
--Sight-read music provided at the audition
